Keywords let you collect contact information through SMS automatically. A customer texts a keyword to your number, and AI handles the conversation — asking for their name, email, or any other details you need.
Example
Say you run a coffee shop and want to build a VIP list:
- You create the keyword "COFFEE" and set it to collect name and email
- A customer texts "COFFEE" to your number
- AI replies: "Thanks for joining our VIP list! What's your name?"
- They reply with their name, AI asks for email, and so on
- Once complete, the contact is saved with all their info and added to your chosen group
Setting Up a Keyword
Go to Keywords in the sidebar. Enter your keyword, choose whether it needs to be an exact match or just contained in the message, pick a device, and optionally assign a contact group. Then add the custom variables you want to collect — you can drag to reorder the fields in the order you want AI to ask for them. Customize your welcome and completion messages too.
Sessions
When someone triggers a keyword, a 24-hour session starts. During that time, all their replies are handled by the keyword AI. If they don't respond within 24 hours, the session expires.
